Physical Education

PE is a vital part of child development. Being able to move confidently, run, catch and take part in sport is a lifelong skill. It promotes health, coordination, flexibility, strength and endurance. Taking part in games as an individual or as part of a team is encouraged. In lessons there is a strong focus on developing the skills required to perform well in competitive sport. We also encourage the enjoyment of movement and know that being outdoors and exercising is great for everyone's well-being.  As a small school there is a strong chance that each child will be involved representing the school in the local school competitions. These events are usually ran from Year 3 to Year 6 and cover events like cross-country, dodgeball, football, athletics, indoor games and tennis.

We use specialist sports coaches to provide high quality PE for each year group. Coaches have a minimum of level 2 training but many have specialisms in sports at a much higher level. This ensures your child receives the best sports education we can offer.

An afterschool sports club also runs each Tuesday afterschool.
